You may fill out this application electronically. However, you must still submit the application in person or by mail because several sections require signatures. It is your responsibility to ensure you fill out the entire application and sign it everywhere required.
Below are several frequently asked questions that will assist you with the application process. Page one of the application provides further instructions. Applications are available now. The application deadline was Friday, August 24, 4 p.m. for 2007. The written test will be administered Friday, November 2. The physical agility test will be administered Saturday, November 3. All applicants will take the written test and physical agility test. The written test results will be noted in each candidate file, but the test is not pass/fail. Applicants cannot call to get results as this will only slow things down. The candidate must take the written test and PASS the physical test to be eligible for hire. One application applies to all fire districts.

Applications are available at the East Naples Fire Control and Rescue District Headquarters located at 4798 Davis Boulevard and the Golden Gate Fire Control and Rescue District Headquarters located at 14575 Collier Blvd. from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday - Friday except holidays. A $25 application fee is due when application is picked-up. Check, money order or cash are accepted, payable to Collier Country Fire Chiefs’, PETC.

Completed applications will ONLY be accepted at 4798 Davis Blvd. either in person during regular business hours or by mail. When the completed application is received, reviewed and accepted, confirmation and a map to the testing site will be mailed to the applicant.
The written test is a general aptitude test. It consists of problem solving, reading comprehension and math skills. Questions may contain fire service lingo. For example: hose length rather than pipe or rope length. The test is approximately 2 hours.
Enclosed in the application packet is a physician’s statement that has a detailed list of what will be required to pass the physical agility section of the exam.

Once the candidate successfully completes all of the phases, his/her name is placed in a “pool.” Qualified candidates remain in the pool for two years. When there is an opening at a department, the fire chief of that department will call the candidates he/she chooses for an individual interview.
