Child safety seats help prevent deaths, but 90 PERCENT of child safety seats are improperly installed!
We can help. Golden Gate has a nationally certified child safety seat inspector who can show you how to find the right seat for your child and how to install it correctly in your vehicle. You'll get peace of mind and learn several potentially lifesaving pointers about child safety seats and seatbelts.
Your family's safety is extremely important to us, and we want to ensure you know how to keep your family safe as you travel.
Here's what you need to know before you come by for an inspection:
- DUE TO DEMAND AND TIME FOR INSPECTIONS, WE DO NOT ACCEPT WALK-INS.
- Call 348-7540 or e-mail us to schedule an appointment. We can perform the inspection at any of our three fire stations. Inspections are generally done Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., but other hours are available to accommodate work schedules.
- Inspections take 30 minutes to an hour, more if you have multiple car seats.
- Bring your child, the safety seat, its instruction manual and the owners manual for your vehicle.
- Bring questions and a willingness to learn. The inspector will show you how to install the seat, and you will then learn how to install it yourself.
- Seats are available for sale if you do not have one or if your seat is defective or out-of-date.
- We do not give away seats for free.
We can also do presentations for your organization or group.
